May is an in-between month – in between spring and summer that is. Nights will still be cool, so there’ll be morning dew, but days are growing longer and hotter. How To Grow And Care For A Jade Plant

Generally speaking the jade plant is simple to grow. This plant is a succulent and native to the country of Argentina. Hot, dry conditions are where the plant will do best. They are natural bloomers, but often do not bloom indoors.  At least eight years of growth are needed before the jade plant flowers.

Most home gardeners do not purchase a jade plant for its attractive flowers. They buy it for the beautiful bluish-green leaves and foliage from where it got its name. With the right growing conditions and care, the jade plant can grow to ten feet in height. But do not expect a jade grown indoors to reach this size.

When deciding on a soil for your plant, choose a cactus medium or sandy loam. Many varieties can be found at a nursery center that closely matches the jade plant natural surroundings. Succulents are prone to root rot so be careful not to over water.

Sparse water and well-drained soil will reduce the chance of rot problems from ever developing.  Of course, all growing pots must have drainage holes. First adding a layer of pebbles then soil helps drainage as well.

Keep in mind not to let your jade plant to get excessively dry, either. If you see the jade leaves begin to fall-off, and the plant looks sickly and scraggly lack of water is the likely culprit. If this happens prune back the sickly portion and water the plant. Odds are the plant will rejuvenate itself to good health.

The jade plant is sun loving. So, you want to give it at least five hours of sunlight each day.  Choose a window that provides as much sunlight as possible. The jade plant should be just fine with occasional water and sufficient sunlight.

When buying your plant do so from a reputable nursery. Inspect the plant for good health. New leaves and shoots should be developing. Look at the roots to see if they are wound-up tight or are they growing into a pot with room to spare. Look at the underside of leaves for aphids and other garden pests.

Opening A Day Care Starter Kit- Don’t Start Without It

When you make the determination that you are ready to start the process of opening a daycare, the first thing to recognize is that you are not going down uncharted paths here.  The steps you will need to take to set up your day care are pretty much cut and dried.  And while for you each step along the path to finally turning the key and opening the door of your shiny new day care is an adventure, it is an adventure many have had before you.

That is why there are already a number of good day care starter kits available to guide you on the path.  Probably the most useful thing a day care starter kit will give you is a check list not only of what things you will need to do but what order you will do them.  And the process the kit will take you through will accomplish two big goals.  The first goal obviously is to get the set up and preparation work done so you can move forward at a steady pace toward making your dream of owning a day care a reality.

But the second goal may be the most important one.  The process the kit will take you through will give you an education into what is required of you and what areas of study and focus you must give time to before you take the next steps toward opening a daycare.  The education process of taking you from the dreamer status to a well informed day care owner is vital to equipping you with the knowledge and the awareness of pitfalls and opportunities to keep your eyes open for throughout the preparation time frame.

It is one thing to talk about it amongst your friends. But when pen comes to paper the dreaming stops. Rubber hits the road and sometimes the seed of thought will enter into the mind. Once you’re in this zone friendly nonsense help will not do. A starter kit is what will be the unbiased guide.

A good starter kit gives you a number of organizational advantages that put you way ahead of the game in starting your day care.  For one thing the kit answers the question, “What do I do first?” as well as the question “What next?”   The plan of development by itself is worth the cost of the kit because you get the sequence of steps to go through, the details you need to attend to in order to see success each step of the way and the timing you should expect to need to complete each step.  That schedule is critical so you can tell if you are ahead of schedule or lagging behind and you can forecast a date when you can expect to actually open your day care center.

A day care starter kit will also give you a jump start on the regulatory issues that you must attend to so you can get your day care operators license and the medical and dietary  “must dos” so you can document that you are running a facility parents can entrust their children to.  The kit gives you the forms customized to your state and the procedures, email addresses, web sites, and phone numbers so you can learn what will be required of you to comply with regulations so your day care center can be certified and operate in a way that is approved of legally as well as by the parents who look to you to run your day care in a professional way.

Finding a day care starter kit isn’t difficult.  There are a number of them available on the internet.  But get some references on these kits because if you are going to spend money on a starter kit, you want to know it has helped others be a success in getting their day care up and running.  In fact, doing some interviewing with recently opened day cares and their owners might point you toward starter kits that have tangible evidence that they work because they helped one of your neighbors get started.  So they can help you too.

Opening a daycare needs more than love to get off the ground !
